   OUR HISTORY

The  Zulu Congregational Church was founded on the 21 March 1896 by late Rev S.B. Shibe at Denver Zoar Mission.

On 14 February 1896 the church disconnect  from the American Congregational Mission society. This was a significant development in the church because it ensured complete independence from that society.

The  members of the church proposed and passed the first constitution, Deed and trust  of the ZCC  which constitution was duly registered in the Deeds office in Pietermaritzburg on 27 March 1903

Again this was a key development because it ensured that members of the church could start charting their own future in terms of how they wished the church to be governed

The names of the trustees of the church Messer's S.B. Shibe, S Mzolo, and I. Caluza were registered in the Deeds office on the same date the constitution was registered.  the church has always embraced the ideology of collective leadership and not a one man show entity. this was the great wisdom by the founders of the church.

These events noted and highlighted by the preamble are very significant event that form a very rich history of our church.
